Meet our Medical Herbalist Clare McQuade:

Herbal Medicine Consultations, Energy Work, Celtic Shamanic Work. Clare integrates modern scientific knowledge of the body and herbal medicines with energetic understanding and ancient spiritual practice. She qualified with a degree in herbal medicine from Napier University in 2009, and have been a practising herbalist ever since. Her areas of special interest and experience lie in digestive and microbiome health, hormonal balance (female, thyroid, adrenal), autoimmune conditions, and skin health. She keeps her practice up to date with regular self study and training seminars.

Weekly Online & In-Person Herbal Clinic:

Consultations are offered both online via Zoom/Google meetup and in-person on Tuesdays from 45 Frederick Street, Edinburgh, EH2 1EP. 

Consultation & Treatment:

Your initial consultation will last for one hour. We will discuss in depth your current symptom patterns, medical history, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle patterns, digestive health, and diet.

From the information gathered, our herbalist will form your treatment protocol. We will work with tailored herbal blends from the Wise Women Village apothecary, and will offer guidance on dietary and lifestyle adjustments where needed.

We will be on hand to answer any questions you may have while we are working together with the herbs, and we will schedule follow-up consultations as regularly you require.

 Functional Testing:

In some cases, it can be beneficial to work with functional testing to gain a deeper understanding of the physiological balance. I am experienced in working with tests investigating digestive health and the microbiome, women’s hormones, thyroid function, and adrenal function, and can discuss these with you during your consultation.
